# 1 – Computer

You can not go very far in the world of digital recording without a computer of high quality. Whether a desktop or a laptop, PC or a Mac is for you and your taste (and is accustomed to), but what really matters is that you have a large amount of memory on your computer (RAM and hard disk space.) You really should get as much as you can afford it, because it is so essential to cope with audio projects effectively.

Generally, you can get a much better deal price wise by going with a desk, but if you really like (or need) the ability to move your home studio around then a laptop would undoubtedly be the best option.

But if you plan on recording more instruments at once (or drums), then you will need a greater interface.

# 3 – Recording and Mixing Software

Pro Tools is the software most popular recording, a copy of which comes with Pro Tools audio interface. It is considered the standard and probably should go with him if you can. Cubase is another option popular that you may want to go to if you have a different audio interface (something other than Pro Tools.) One thing you should note now is that Pro Tools does not work with Microsoft Windows Vista, although it seems that the problem is corrected in the new version of Pro Tools (8.0) and works with XP.

# 4 – Microphone condenser

If you plan on recording of any voice or acoustic instruments, then a condenser microphone is an absolute essential. The more you pay, the better the microphone goes out. # 5 – Dynamic Microphone
